Rüveyde Oder

Fashion Designer

The “pink” of the team. The most mignon, the one who collects the most interesting things, the one and only vegan, and the most fabric-friendly. She likes coffee with lots of sugar, and can’t resist vegan hazelnut cream. She is fond of everything that is old and antique. She collects film cameras and takes flower photos with them. She is also a collector of minerals, and eventually “painted leaves”. I wonder if there is one single other person who collects that! (If there is, it is strongly requested to contact TELEMDEN via communication department). To explain what that is, if paint splashes on a leaf of a tree or a flower while someone is painting somewhere, Rüveyde notices them, collects them, and keeps them with care.

She was born in Istanbul. She had her undergraduate degree in the Fashion Design program run jointly by ITU and State University of New York – Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), one of the world’s leading fashion schools, and graduated with first place honors. She has a Master of Fine Arts from the University of the Arts London, London College of Fashion. The all-leather suit she prepared for the year-end fashion show at FIT won the “Anna Sui Casual Wear Excellence Award” in 2008. She participated in the Shima – Seiki Training Program in Japan and received the “SDS-One Knit Design Software Certificate”. After 5 years of corporate work at A&Y Marka Mağazacılık, she decided to focus on her own projects and became a freelancer. She designed the uniforms of ITU Sports Club in 2013 and the uniforms of the İTÜ Development Foundation Schools in 2015.

She is fluent in English and French, and a lecturer at ITU – FIT Fashion Design SUNY Joint Program since 2014. Military clothing, uniforms and men’s clothing throughout history are of her particular interest. She brings fashion plates to life from antique fashion plate magazines with antique or vintage fabrics. She likes to take pictures outside of work. TELEMDEN textile collections are entrusted to Telem and Rüveyde.
